This is my blog where I write stuff that interest me: religion, politics etc…

on working out

Over the last 20 years or so, I went to several gyms. I jogged. In 2012 I had a personal trainer helping me out with weight lifting and jogging. The weight lifting wasn’t a succes. But the jogging was. In June 2012 I was to complete the midsummer night run, 10 km’s u  around 67 minutes. Couple of years later I improved my time and did the Ghent city trail 10 km in 60 minutes. Than the probls started

What happened
Well I started to experience lower back pains. Which halted my progress. Than the verdict came in, in late 2018 that the reasons I had trouble with my lower back was due to the fact that there was a physical problem in the area around my lowe back. I forgot the name. Anyway several months before I started a membership at a local gym called MSA. It stands for Military Sports Academy. Two former soldiers wanted to start a new gym where they would teach people the correct way of working out in a way you see results fast, but the risk of injury is low. Right now, I have been there for three years.i learned alot there. The right kind of exercises for abs, the right way to stretch before and after a training. Most of all, the insight that the body is connected.
A jogger who jogg 3-4 times a week will have strong legs, but if he doesn’t train his upper body, he risks having injuries there. Why? When you jogg, the vibrations of jogging will go up your body. The stronger the muscles are, the better the chance they have to withstand those vibrations. But if those same vibrations came across muscles that aren’t strong enough to deal with them, there they will set inand cause problems.so basically, if you jogg, it is important to not just train the legs, but also the lower back, the upper back, the front of your body. Basicly you have to train your entire body. It will help you improve your training, but also help you get stronger to withstand time.
The problem with weakend muscles.
The thing that I learnt over the years is that your body can recover from alot. I have several physical problems, but by focusing on them, finding ways to improve myself and make those muscles around the area where I have difficulties stronger, I could overcome those difficulties. Unless there is something wrong with your spine or bones, the body can do amazing things to recover. But you have to want to look for it. It will not come on its own. I had problems with my shoulders. By working on them, making the muscles stronger, I could get better. Its not just making them stronger, but also stretch them alot. The same goes for my lower back; i have limited scoliosis. There i had to focus on my abbs and lower back to be able to jogg again.
Conclusion
What im trying to say is. Even though there is wear on the muscles, you should try to look for ways to make those stronger to slow down the degradation of these muscles as much as possible. Training them is the way to do it.it could also save you alot of money on physical therapy as well by doing that.
Basicly by working out, you can prevent degradation/ wear of the muscles. Im not advocating that you all should become athletes. No, not at all. Its important to stay healthy as much as possible by any means necessary. If it is possible of course. Training your body can help you when you are older, retired. Everyone should be happy the way they are and look. But in the long term, its best to improve yourself or at least try to do that. Each person is different and unique in their own way. We all should strive to accept ourselves the way we are and how we look. If you can improve yourself. Good luck to you. If for whatever reason you can not do it, it’s also OK. I’m just giving my experiences here and my thoughts on the matter. I’m not telling anyone here to what to do.
