You could ask yourself: why blame the immigrant for the problems, if denying them help or getting rid of them does not solve anything?
The answer lie in the motivations of those spreading that kind of propaganda and why they spread it. The far right would have you believe those lies, because they like to blame someone who has a different skin colour than they do. Its born out of racism.
The belgian citizens who have been denied help and let them by the system are more susceptible to this kind of propaganda, because they have seen first hand that the system let them down. Not realizing what I told in my earlier post, that both the Belgian citizen as the immigrant are both victims in this. The immigrant is blamed by the far right and anyone else who thinks that they are the real culprit. The Belgian citizen who was let down by the system or abanded by the system might also think that. What unites both people is that the system is used to divide the two, instead of uniting them. Most of the time its done unintentionally. But the far right is happy to exploit this to further their agenda, while doing nothing to fix it. After all, the far right does not want paychecque to rise, or afordable housing. They couldn’t care less about it. They have the same masters as the centrum right parties do, the elite, those who hold the real power. If they did care about their own people as they claimed, they would help rais paychecks, either lower the retirement homes rates or raise the pensions, fix the problem with affordable housing by setting a limit on how much a house could either cost to pay or to rent.
As it turns out, the far right doesn’t want any of that. The lack of solutions works in their favor, helps them bring in votes, so they can claim they speak for the people, while at the same time do nothing for them, except make rules an laws that would prevent people from speaking up and rise in revolt. A good example would be Brazil, USA, Hungary They use immigrants as a scapegoats to take away civil rights of the citizens and to silence criticism by attacking them openly or indirectly.
When Hitler rose to power, and installed labor camps, the first people to be put there weren’t Jews. They were union leaders, communists, political opposition, anyone who criticises Hitler. An extreme example, but it is something that happens when fascists come into power.
conclusion
While their are certainly problems that really needs to be adressed, lack of solutions helps those in power and the far right gain momentum and blame it on certain groups in society, who aren’t to blame. The scapegoating of groups of people in society is done to make the eye of the public look away from the real issue, the real problems, the corrupt political leaders who are only in it for their own goals and for that of their friends and don’t care anything about ordinary people, except when its time to vote.
