Goblin was highly recommended by a couple of friends. So instead of doing episode per episode I will do the entire series.
Overall the series was really good. Like with Luca, tale of nine-tailed there was an overal storyline that drove the show. The storyline was well executed. Even though endings are hard, they made sure that they wrapped up most of the storylines.
The characters were fleshed out, except for the aunt and nephew and niece of Ji Eun Tak.I thought they were rather a bit cliche characters.
The dynamic between reaper and goblin was fun and entertaining to watch. It provided some humor. The show is about a Goblin who waits on his bride to free him from his torment. He was cursed 900 years ago after being killed for standing up to his king. The young king Pryeha was being influenced by a eunuch Park Woong Yong (I could be wrong about his full name) to get rid of the general. He told lies that the people loved Kim Shon more than their king. This the king banished Kim Shin to fight a war he could not win but did win. When he became victorious, the eunuch spread more lies about him so the king had him killed. General Kim Shin became a goblin.I won’t tell much more about it out of fear of spoiling things.
Even though I’m the beginning it was hard for me to get in to the story, after 5 episodes I got invested and started to like the show. The reason why I hard a hard time getting invested in the show was because some episodes were in my opinion to long. Especially the first 5 ones. It reminded me of Hotel Del Luna which in my opinion had way to long episodes.
Overall I can recommend this show if you are a fan of mythology and story driven shows. The passion is a bit on the mild side. But that is so for
most kdrama’s I have seen so far.
