Recently I watched the kdrama I sell Your Haunted House. The show is centred around a real estate agent who is also a exorcist who teams up with psychics to banish ghosts from places to sell it. Leave it up to Koreans to find a way to make a profit out of it.
The show follows a real estate and exorcist Hong Ji Ah and a con artist Oh In Bum (who is also a psychic) they team up to unearth a mystery about their past and banish ghosts in the mean time.
First of all, the terms “exorcist” and “psychic” have different meanings here and usage. A psychic is someone who can get possessed by a ghost .If not banished right away, the possessed psychic can wreak havoc. But once banished certain habits and/ or memories may linger from the deceased in the psychic or exorcist.
From the first episode I was hooked. It was different. It’s a mix of action, comedy and horror. Something that is not easily done, they seem to have done it with ease.
It’s a great show. The look of the ghosts was well done. The CGI for it was convincing in my opinion. The actors did a great job in their performances.
While they did acknowledge that what Oh In Bum did for a living was wrong. What was good that they didn’t set up a arc to try to redeem himself from his ways as a con artist. He was trying to get bye in a world that frowns upon being poor. That in itself creates conflict between him and Hong Ji Ah.
If you want to watch a good show with solid acting, story and is not to scary, I can recommend this show. If you have a chance to watch, do it. I wasn’t bored one bit throughout the series. I loved it from beginning to end. Even though I was a bit disappointed with the ending. It felt like they were setting it up for a second season instead of concluding the story.
