This is my blog where I write stuff that interest me: religion, politics etc…

worshipping the Gods

To worship the Gods means to me more than just praying and bringing offerings.

To me it also means that it should be part of my daily life and activities. I honour Athena by learning new things. I honour Apollon by not just burning bay leaves but also by taking care of myself. I honour Ares by getting into shape and know how to act when getting into a argument. I honour Ares, Herakles and Apollon by achieving my goal I set this year to run 15 km. Or at least try. I also honour Athena by not trying to let my emotions get the best of me when getting into a argument, which isn’t easy. I honour Athena, Ares and Herakles when I practice Krav Maga.
I thank Hermes Enodios when I arrive safely at my destination. I also honour him by trying to communicate clearly. Which isn’t always easy.
I try to honour Zeus by living righteously and honour  justice. Which is why I became a Marxist because of the social injustice that is happening all around me and I want to be part of the solution and I do believe that Marxism is the solution to that.
I try to honour Aphrodite and Eros but since I haven’t been successful in romantic relationships, I find it hard to not be able to do it. I do have a kind of FWB thing going on with someone. I hope to honour Aphrodite that way. She also helps me learning new things about Russian. I try to honour Aphrodite by try to support sex work that isn’t forced by sex trafficking. While Marxism condemns sex work, the reality is somewhat different than theory. There are women and men who chose to go into this field for their own reasons. And the very least they should be recognised so that they could be legally protected and not exploited for financial reasons.
there are people like disabled, people in a institution because they don’t fit into society for whatever reason, should have access to intimacy. If they have the urges, they should be able to do something about it. Sex work is the way to go here. It’s an ugly truth but it’s the reality where we live in. But it also means that the men or women who do this job, should get respect for it, legal protection. Now they mostly operate in a grey area. By making it illegal, you only push it into criminal underworld where it shouldn’t belong.
Worshipping the Gods means also active think about the nature of the Gods and challenge your beliefs. We know now more than 2000 years ago which means our religion must also adapt to the new circumstances. Otherwise they become stale. That is true for all religions.
