This is my blog where I write stuff that interest me: religion, politics etc…

learning two languages at the same time is hard

for the last 6 years I have been learning Russian language and since the pandemic, I have been focussing more heavily on it which resulted in me getting better. I have been going to Taalcafe mondial to improve my speaking, I met Russians, Belarussians, Latvian, Ukrianian, Kazakstanian people living in Belgium, who are all wonderfull people to converse with. As I said it earlier, its not a easy language to learn or master, but I’m getting there. Learning a language is a marathon, not a sprint. I still make mistakes, sometimez forget words. Overal, its a fascinating language.

Since september, I decided and bit pushed by some people to pick up French again. To be honest, I don’t like it. I’m getting better to understand the language, speaking is another matter. Still combining two different languages at the same time is at times mind boggling and difficult to combine. Sometimes i feel like my head will explode. In three weeks i have my exam for French. I find myself forcing myself to expand my french vocabulary. Learning French is not something that im passionate about. Its not that i hate the French language. Far from it. Its just that its not a language that i particularly beautiful. I find Latin, Korean, English and Russian more beautifully than French. Still I need it for my job so I have to learn it. So if i master it, than I would speak 4 language: Dutch, English, Russian and French and i plan to learn Korean in the future as well. The problem with trying to learn multiple things at once, you run out of time.
