I’m kind of a eclectic when it comes to music: hiphop, metal, film music. Now K-pop is also entering it. Most of my music choices are English based but with learning Russian I discovered Russian hiphop and im a fan of some of them like Макс Корж, Оксимирон, Назима, Say Mo, Муаги & Эндшпиль/Панда. Say Mo is the latest Russian rapper I discovered when listening to Назима. She is like Назима from Kazakhstan and she makes interesting music. From the music i can get my hands on, i loved most of them: не принцесса, бишараска, тестим тусим, Triple G, не Смей, Не говори (the last two were both with Назима), Номад.

Оксимирон is known to be critical of Putin’s policies and his war in Ukraine. Like most artists, he cancelled his concerts in Russia and established a series of concerts in Istanbul, Berlin and London in favour of Ukrainian refugees. He is also called the Russian eminem and is both known to be a industry rapper and battle rapper. He fought Dizaster in King of the Dott battle and won from him. Last year in december, he released his latest album (красота и уродство) and not long after also did Макс Корж (психи попадают в топ). i bought both albums. Ironically психи попадают в топ was released the day i received news that I was still infected with covid-19. I had mild symptoms so i thought it was a common cold or something. There are some good songs on there and I pleased to find out Макс Корж released Движ as Исключение, my favorite track. One of my favorite tracks really.

This year (2022) also marked the year that Junki XL was able to release his Justice League music from the movie and it blew my mind away.

For the last six months, im also gettin into K-pop. I have listened to BTS, but not so much im a fan of their current music. I’m glad that they can go to the military. It will be a humbling experience for them and perhaps they will find themselves again. In my experience they lost themselves when they released singles in English to appeal to western audiences. After Psy released his lasted cd where he collaborated with Suga from BTS and Jessi, it sparked my interest. After visiting a K-pop exhibition in Korean cultural centre in Brussels, I discovered Blackpink and started to listening to their music as well.

Music os very important to me. You will rarely find me somewhere with not a headset on where im listening to music. It helps me relax and sometimes escape from this world. I mostly listen to it when im jogging. So thank you Макс Корж, Оксимирон, Назима, Say Mo for your music. I”m grateful for it.

With Blackpink comes the first girlband that i listen to it. I bought their latest cd Born Pink and I enjoyed it very much. They make catchy popsongs and i do think that the R&B part of Pink Venom could be left out of it. Other than that, I love their latest cd.
