encountering roadblocks

When learning a new language, you will eventually come across roadblocks. For most and I’m no exception to it- is it grammar. It doesn’t matter which language it is- for me it is Russian, grammar is difficult. I don’t know who came up with it, but it can be frustrating. While that in itself can be frustrating, another part of it is the expectations. By that, i mean the expectation that you had. This week my teacher asked me to write an essay on any topic. I did that. I was hoping on few grammatical errors, but I got alot of them, again. I was hoping that i have gotten less of them, but alas, I was proven wrong again. It was somewhat disheartening for me. Still, my Russian speaking friends whom I showed it, they praised me for it and that I didn’t have that many errors and while I did have grammatical errors, I did do good on other parts of it. I know how to form a sentence in Russian, how to pronounce the date’s and that I even can conjugate the adjectives, verbs, etc… Its a roadblock that can be overcome, but you have to keep trying. It can be done. That is exactly what i need to do, to keep trying until I get it right.
