From is a tv show from MGM streamingservice that was made form 2 of the creators of Lost. Lost has gone down in tv history as the show that doesnt deliver. Similar tp Game of Thrones were the creators screwed it up to rush it so they can make their Star Wars films, which were canceled due to criticism the last season received.

So From is a tv show that is similar to Lost. A group of people are stranded in a place where there is seemingly no escape. The moment you come across a tree on the road means that you are already stranded there. The first episode starts with a girl in her room, waiting for her father. Her mother is downstairs closing the doors and windows. While praying, the girl is talked to by a woman outside her room. She opens the curtains to see a older woman standing outside her window. She pretends to be a grand mother or sorts. She tries to pursuade the girl to open the window and let her in. While she is hesitant at first, she does it at the moment her mother is walking up the stairs. While she opens up the window, the old woman turns into a kind of creature. The girl screams. It is to late. Both the girl and woman dies. This opening scene shows that when darkness falls, creatures walk about and kill everyone they come across. Those creatures are first presented as humans who smile. So basicly, while appear friendly, the friendly faces become deadly when they can get their hands on you.

The Matthews family stumbles upon the place and before night falls, they ran into another car. The car accident leaves the youngest Matthews kid stuck in the van. The father stays behind along with Boyd while Julie and Tabitha are being brought to the town house along with the person of the other car. So they are introduced to the cruel world of that place.

The first season goes about introducing us to the world, the characters. Mysteries are introduced so that the show is more about driving off the creatures who haunt people. They try to figure out how electricity works in a world where there are no wiring. Boyd goes on a search party to find a way out with Sarah, who was thought to be dead after the events of earlier episodes.

Season 2 goes deeper into the mysteries of the place and adds the tension with the arrival of new group. I wont go into spoilers. I can recommend the show if you like thrilelr shows with focus on characters and mystery solving. A season has 10 episodes and a season 3 has been ordered. But seen with the writing and actor strikes, it is goin to be a while before it will start filming and when it will be released.
