This is my blog where I write stuff that interest me: religion, politics etc…

What is fascism?

The history of fascist ideology is long and it draws on many sources. Fascists took inspiration from sources as ancient as the Spartans for their focus on racial purity and their emphasis on rule by an elite minority. Fascism has also been connected to the ideals of Plato, though there are key differences between the two. Fascism styled itself as the ideological successor to Rome, particularly the Roman Empire. From the same era, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel’s view on the absolute authority of the state also strongly influenced fascist thinking. The French Revolution was a major influence insofar as the Nazis saw themselves as fighting back against many of the ideas which it brought to prominence, especially liberalism, liberal democracy and racial equality, whereas on the other hand, fascism drew heavily on the revolutionary ideal of nationalism. The prejudice of a “high and noble” Aryan culture as opposed to a “parasitic” Semitic culture was core to Nazi racial views, while other early forms of fascism concerned themselves with non-racialized conceptions of the nation.

Common themes among fascist movements include: authoritarianism, nationalism (including racial nationalism), hierarchy and elitism, and militarism. Other aspects of fascism such as its “myth of decadence”, anti-egalitarianism and totalitarianism can be seen to originate from these ideas. Roger Griffin has proposed that fascism is a synthesis of totalitarianism and ultranationalism sacralized through a myth of national rebirth and regeneration, which he terms “Palingenetic ultranationalism”.

Fascism’s relationship with other ideologies of its day was complex. It frequently considered those ideologies its adversaries, but at the same time it was also focused on co-opting their more popular aspects. Fascism supported private property rights – except for the groups which it persecuted – and the profit motive of capitalism, but it sought to eliminate the autonomy of large-scale capitalism from the state. Fascists shared many of the goals of the conservatives of their day and they often allied themselves with them by drawing recruits from disaffected conservative ranks, but they presented themselves as holding a more modern ideology, with less focus on things like traditional religion, and sought to radically reshape society through revolutionary action rather than preserve the status quo. Fascism opposed class conflict and the egalitarian and international character of socialism. It strongly opposed liberalism, communism, anarchism, and democratic socialism.

The characterics of fascism

The 14 characteristics are:

1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism

Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are

flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights

Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases

because of “need.

” The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of

prisoners, etc.

3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause

The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious

minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

4. Supremacy of the Military

Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic

agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

5. Rampant Sexism

The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more

rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

6. Controlled Mass Media

Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or

sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

7. Obsession with National Security

Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

8. Religion and Government are Intertwined

Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and

terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government’s policies

or actions.

9. Corporate Power is Protected

The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually

beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

10. Labor Power is Suppressed

suppressed .

Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely

11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts

Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other

academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment

Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even

forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption

Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use

governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and

even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

14. Fraudulent Elections

Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even

assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media.

Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

Fascism now

That was 100 years ago. Now fascists tried to present themselves as clean, likeable people who try to do things by the books. Now, they aren’t as openly about what they are in order to get away with things. They try to present their ideology as presentable, as something that isn’t part of the establishment. The last 20 years, the centrum parties are on the decline and they are desperate to hold on to their power. In that vacuum, fascists tried to present themselves as democratic, law abiding and on the side of the common people. Its like the story of red riding hood and the wolf who dressed up as grandma to get to little red riding hood. Fascists are the wolf. Sometimes fascists and neonazi’s are used interchangeably but they are not quite the same. Neonazi’s focus primarly on the purity of their “master race”. Neonazi’s are easy to spot. They like to use swastika’s as their preferred symbol to identify themselves to others.

Fascists parties tend to show themselves as an ally of the common people while spewing their rethoric against anyone who doesn’t belong in the country. 100 years ago, it were Jews, now its mostly muslims, refugee’s, immigrants, anyone who doesn’t oppose to open borders, etc….

The problem is that during times of crisis, people seek leadership to guide them out of it. But the rich does it also. They are looking for ways to safeguard their profits and to maximize during times of crisis. While people might starve is of little concern to them. So long as they have their profits and they ally themselves with fascists to do that. Fascists are always the protectors of the rich. They seek to divide the people so they fight amongst themselves so the rich can become richer, even in times of crisis. And everything can be used. The far right co-opt the term “woke” as a means to try to pursuade people that their traditions, their way of life is at jeopardy to be cancelled.

With fascists in power: rights of LGBQT, women, minorities are in danger. We already seeing it happening in USA. Its on the path to become a theocracy with fascist tendencies or just as wel a fascist state. The republicans are almost a fascist party. They don’t hide it anymore. Mostly because fascists tend to uphold the mirage of victimhood when being confronted with their ideology. They use emotional manipulation to trick people into thinking that they are right. Like the discussion I recently had about the relationship with illegal immigrants with affordable housing, pensions. They want us to think that by removing the illegal immigrants, the ones who don’t work, that there is going to be enough to go around for us all. When you are against it, they can say that you are against affordable housing, afforadable pensions, etc… They know that they are wrong about this, but still do it to trick people, to manipulate them to think that the immigrants who don’t work should be deported, that illegal immigrants should be deported, etc….

The statement is false because even if they do it, the pensions are still to low, the lowest in Europe. affordable housing is still a issue because the prices are to high and the wages are stagnated. And that is the part that they don’t want you to know and simply don’t care about. Fascists don’t care if your wages are stagnated, that you have problems making ends meet. They pretend to care to forfill their agenda to gain control. Once in control, they will abolish collective workers negations that decide how much money one can make in each sector of industry and in the economy. This will effectivly made it so that each worker has to negotiate their own contract and wages with his employer. If someone is bad at it or the boss doesn’t really like him, they are screwed.

History repeats itself, but not always in the same way. And when its said that the 1930’s are back, it refers to the rise of fascism and that is back. Fascim always springs up in the wake of a capitalistic crisis. Especially a major one. We had Trump in USA who tried to overthrow the elections by force and failed. He got away with it. Bolsonare in Brazil was also one but while he didn’t activly tried to overthrow the elections, some of his supporters did and failed and unlike with Trump, he had to face consequences of his actions. In Europe, we have Meloni in Italy. Belgium could be next in line if in 2024 Vlaams Belang and N-VA get the upper hand in the regional elections for Flanders. Let’s hope many people are aware of it and don’t vote for them. If they win, the country will not be split, but become a confederate where the social security is reduced to almost nothing. It will be a place where people with medical issues will pay more than healthy people. poverty will rise more than it does now.

the assasination of Charlie Kirk has spiraled things out of control and Trump administration sees this as a opportunity to do with the left, with anyone opposing them under the guise of hate speech. While a small group of people celebrated the death of Kirk, most did not and the far right uses that to spin the truth that all leftists celebrate it while that is not true. They do it so that they can further sow division among the people. That is exactly what the elites want, what fascists need, to have people fighting amongst themselves. The irony being that while i disagree with Kirk on all what he stood for, except for freedom of speech and that is what the right wants to take away. They created a website where leftists were listed with their place of employment to doxx them for not mourning the death of Kirk.

They are using Kirk’s death as an excuse to doxx and cancel anyone who didn’t mourn Kirk. They are going so far as stating that vandalism is equal to terrorism, that even pointing out quotes of Kirk on gun control, that they see it as hateful, hatespeech. Jimmy Kimmel was pulled of the air for making a joke that was factually incorrect. The real reason was interference of the government. ABC like Paramount wanted to do a merger that costs billions and like Paramount they threw Kimmel infront of the bus like Paramount did with Colbert so the merger could be approved. The dubbel irony is that the right and conservatives are claiming that they are decent people who would never mock people’s death or attacks on political figures on the other side while that is what they did. They mocked the attack on Paul Pelosi. They tried to link the deaths of the Hortmans to Tim Walz, the attempted kidnapping of Gretcher Whitmore. They are now claiming that political violence come mainly from the left while stats state otherwise. As we have seen before, if the facts contradict them, they just claimed it as fake. As of last week, the USA has gone into a very troublesome and dark times. The fall out of it, could extend to Europe as well. Now Trump has made Antifa illegal and a terrorist organisation, its clear which direction the USA is going. Trump wants to be a dictator, but the likes of Stephen Miller are fascists and they are using this as means to go after people they don’t like and silence any critics. Time will tell which direction it will, but for now, it doesn’t like good for the old USA.
