a little history. In the 1950’s, CIA and MI6 helped depose Mosadegh because he nationalised the oil field, which meant that the revenue from these fields would go to Iran and its people and not corporations. Later in the 1970’s the sjah was so unpopular that 10% of the population revolted against him. Aytollah Khomeini returned. When Khomeini took power, he nationalised many industries and restricted western influence. This has even had influence in Saudi-Arabia, which influenced their extremist religious movements.
Since than, Iran has been a devil to the west. At times for good reason. Military and politically, they were influential in the region. They became arch rivals to both Iraq and Saudi-Arabia. Under BRICS, they made peace with Saudi-Arabia. Many Iranians fled Iran after the Ayatollahs took power. For good reason.
Along with Syria and Iraq, they were a power block in the middle east. A block where countries like Saudi-Arabia and Israel felt threatened by. Mostly because they resisted their influence and power. When Iras fell, Syria was next. Saudi-Arabia financed many terror groups working outside their country. When Syria fell, Iran was alone in the region without any allies. Russia was occupied in Ukraine and couldn’t help, even though Iran supplied Russia with Shahed drones. Israel is the only country in the region that has nuclear weapons. Iran sought them alswell as a deterrent, to keep Israel at bay. Obama made a deal with the Iranian regime in exchange for their power needs, they would not seek nuclear technology that could lead to nuclear weapons. Trump the fool tore that agreement up, which meant that Iran was free to try to develop nuclear weapons. Meanwhile there was a country in the middle east that had nuclear weapons, claiming for decades that Iran was close to develop nuclear weapons, as a means to organise international support to attack Iran.
I think that most countries realised that that information was anything but reliable. Last year the US striked their nuclear sites, but Israel was trying to force Trump to attack Iran so that a new puppet regime could be installed.
Is the current Iranian regime bad? Sure, no question about it.
When the revolts broke out, Iran cut itself off from the rest of the world, so any information from Iran is sketchy at best and should be taken with a grain of salt when it comes to how many people have died because we have no way of verifying it. We do know that many people have died during the protests, but how many? that we do not know at this time.
These strikes by US-Israel is not done to help the Iranian people. They couldn’t care less, even though they publicly stated that they do.
Even then, this is in clear violation of international law which is basically meaningless now. That started when the US-UK invaded Iraq bilaterally in 2003 which destabilised the region as saw the rise of many organisations like ISIS. That invasion led to thousands upon thousands of deaths and many fled to safer regions. Afghanistan, same thing. Those invasions didn’t improve the lives of the ordinary people.
The reason why people revolted against the sjah in the first place was because he was too autocratic and cruel. Now they want to do what when ayatollah is gone? No one knows. If you want to topple a government, you have to have a plan in place to replace them. If not, its a repeat of 2003 again. BTW one of the side effects of the 2003 Iraq invasion was that Putin took notice and saw that if he played it smart, he could do the same thing. And he has. If international law is null and void, it could destabilize the world, especially in the south. Which means weapons manufacturers could make a lot of money out of conflict.
Seeing how Iran is a member of BRICS, it could very well be an effort to destabilize BRICS as it is a counterpart to IMF and is a direct way of the south to say that they had enough of western imperialism. For those who don’t know what BRICS is, BRICS came into being after the 2008 financial market crash as a means to become independent of the west.
So ask yourself this? If the conflict has ended and ayatollahs are gone. Who will replace it? What will happen to the Iranian people?
This conflict is meant to solidify Israeli control over the region. The oil fields will fall into the hands of the oil corporations and Iranians will never see any of the profit of it. If the ayatollah regime falls, it could possibly spell trouble for Putin and his war of atrition in Ukraine because like i said earlier, Iran deliver the shahed drones to his army. That might actually be a good thing here. Unfortunatly only time will tell what will happen to Iran and its post ayatollah regime? Lets hope, not another Iraq 2.0.
