10 km city run

So yesterday was the Ghent city run . I participated in it and ran the whole 10 km in 66 minutes. The trail was hard. I spoke with several people who did it and they said the same thing.

Beforehand I was stressed about waiting in line with hundreds of people to be able to start. Honestly, that wait stresses me more out than anything else.

I prayed to the Gods beforehand, Gods like Herakles that if I do it, I would pour libations to Them and burn incense.

I did but after the 6 km, I had to push through mentally because my heartrate was high from the start: 152 bpm. But it stayed steadily and thanks to Herakles, Plouton, Erebos and Nyx for helping me push through it. I’m thankful that They were there for me. Physically I can run 10 km, even 15 km. But when your heartrate is 152 bpm, it becomes a fight within yourself to not quit.

Thank you Theoi for helping me push through it.
